Once again this year, our Firstbank crew was out in full force including everyone’s favorite moose...Fortune Freddy!!
The week of September 30th thru October 4th was Paint the Town Pink for Belding. The B Foundation has organized a community wide campaign to help out our friends and neighbors struggling with cancer. This is the third year of the event and on Friday October 4th the Belding Football team wore pink along with everyone around town including the Firstbank Belding crew.
After the football game on Friday there was also a 5K glow walk / run that our Firstbank staff members, Dan Mitchell, Michele Krick, Crissa Snyder, Jen Ettinger and Sam Ford participated in and finished…all for a great cause!

Firstbank helps to “PACK THE BUS”
Once again this year the team at our Firstbank offices helped Ionia Public Schools in their efforts to collect school supplies for local youth in need. Pictured here our very own Deb Hausserman along with volunteer Sharon Blanchard in front of the collection bus which made its appearance at 3 of our Firstbank offices in Ionia collecting donations. The goal this year was to collect 75 backpacks and school supplies to fill those backpacks and we are happy to announce that we were able to exceed that amount! Thank you to all of you who were generous enough to stop by our location drop offs and contribute. We could not have done it without your support.
Firstbank was recently recognized as favorite Bank in the Clinton County News People's Choice awards. Every year the Howard City branch sponsors and donates concessions at the Howard City Music in the Park gatherings. It’s always a great time to tap your toes, show off your air guitar skills, and visit with the town folk. We also assist the Panhandle Area Chamber of Commerce with their night of concessions. Donating the beverages and a few extra hands. This year’s crew was awesome, had a great time. Amber B. (Independent Bank), Donna E. (Ericksen Cleaning), Stacy V. ( Sticks & Stones), Millianne L. (The RiverValley Shopper), and Firstbank staff – Lisa, Ashleigh, Tasha, and Michelle.
We always look forward to the Music in the Park gatherings. Great weather, great food, great company!
Again this year Firstbank is a proud sponsor and supporter of the Ionia Free Fair! Firstbank took home top honors for best Commercial Float in the parade. Pictured below; Firstbank’s Fortune Freddy rode in this fantastic 1928 Ford Roadster, which employee Nell Altobelli rebuilt with her husband and 3 children. Our Firstbank float, pulled by Dan Mitchell, showcased the 2013 Ionia Public Schools Senior Scholars! Firstbank is a dedicated and commited member of the community and we appreciate the opportunity to serve the Ionia area.
The 2013 Isabella County Youth and Farm Fair took place July 21st-27th. Each year the fair draws hundreds to participate in the various events, from the tractor pulls, demolition derby to the carnival rides and games and of course the 4H animal barns. Firstbank is a proud supporter of the fair and this year was no exception. Pictured here are branch manager Tracey Sallee and Customer Service Representative Katie Schehr as they attended the small animal auction and purchased 4 animals. Their purchases included 2 rabbits, a chicken and a Grand Champion dairy goat. The money that is given for these animals goes directly to 4H and those young people who’ve raised and cared for these animals. Organizations such as 4H helps to teach not only the importance of caring for animals but also the value of earning and saving money for the future. Firstbank is proud to support those efforts and applauds all those involved in the 4H organization.
