You may have recently heard about a new internet virus referred to as the “Heartbleed Bug” which has the potential to attack systems across the nation and attempt to access personal and business account information. Firstbank is always very diligent and pro-active in ensuring our website and eBanking sites are safe and secure. Even though our Website and eBanking sites are unaffected by the “Heartbleed Bug”, a password change in the coming days may still be advisable, especially if you tend to use the same passwords on several sites. As a reminder, Firstbank will NOT request any personal or confidential information from you by email. If you happen to receive any suspicious emails purportedly from the bank requesting you to change your password or provide personal information, DO NOT click any links. Please contact us either by phone or email if you have any questions regarding this bug or other suspicious activity.

The holidays are a special time for all of us. At Firstbank, we think it’s the perfect time to share the blessings of the season with our friends, neighbors and communities. From Santa visiting with the little ones, passing out cookies to our customers, collecting donations for local food pantries and our Adopt a Family fundraisers, we know how important it is to maintain strong community ties and we are proud to be a part of that.
Firstbank would like to thank all of you who came out to visit Santa on Friday at our Lakeview office! We had such a wonderful time visiting with you and we hope you enjoyed your visit with Santa. He could only stay and visit for a short time, but fortunately he was able to visit with the children who came and even had time to listen to the Christmas wishes of our staff too! Thank you Santa!
Each year Mid-Michigan Industries selects one local business as "Employer of the Year" to pay tribute to a business that provides opportunities to individuals with disabilities. This year that honor went to Firstbank. We recognize the value and importance of providing opportunities to those among us with disabilities. It is the uniquely diverse skills and talents that make our community special. We are humbled by this honor and appreciate the opportunity to be part of such a worthy organization.
Several members of our Firstbank family came out for the “Bowl for Kid’s Sake” Bowling Event sponsored by the Mt. Pleasant Optimist Club which was held November 2nd at Chippewa Lanes. The annual event raised approximately $10,000.00 all of which goes right back into the community for great things such as: Youth Garden, United Way, Business Professionals of America, Flat Mountain Mechanics, Girls on the Run, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Toys for Tots, Woodland Hospice, Christmas Outreach, Nutrition PRGM, Boy Scout Troop 604, Chippewa River District Library, Parks and Recreation Department, and the Homebuilders Scholarship Fund. Thanks so much to those of you who helped out with this great event and we hope you all had a good time while doing so much good for our community.
