Mt. Pleasant Bike Brigade Competes in Race

The 4th Annual Le Tour de Mount Pleasant festival of bike races took place June 8-10th in downtown Mt. Pleasant.  The event features hundreds of cyclists competing in several races including a kid's race, family fun ride, business relay race and of course the pro cycling race.  This year our very own Firstbank Bike Brigade took part in the business relay race and although they didn't win at least they didn't finish last!  Pictured here; Teresa, Tracey, Faye and Nora sporting their brigade gear and showing off their awesome biking skills.  Way to go ladies!

Tri County High School Scholarship Awarded

On Thursday, May 3, 2012 Tri County High School held it's annual awards night for the senior class.  Each year Firstbank awards one senior a $500 scholarship for college. Howard City branch manager Michelle Barker presented this year's winner, Mitchell Swaney with the award at the ceremony.  Mitchell will be attending Cornerstone University in the fall and plans on studying video production.  Congratulations Mitchell and good luck from your friends at  Firstbank!                                               .

Mt.Pleasant Supports Community Library Project

Firstbank is proud to announce their involvement and support of a sculpture which is to be placed at the new Morton Township Library in Mecosta. 

Renowned sculpture Robert Barnum, Professor of Fine Arts at Ferris State University is working with the students from Ferris State University's Welding and Engineering Technology department to create this beautiful piece of art which is scheduled to be in place spring of 2012.  The sculpture which features 5 figures reading books range from 4 to 13 feet high and will have the engraved words;  INSPIRE, IMAGINE, ENRICH, DREAM, COMMUNITY and CREATE."

Dave Miller, VP of Marketing for Firstbank stated "We are excited to be involved in such a great community project as this.  Our communities are a very important part of who we are, and this is just one way we can show our commitment to them."

Mt.Pleasant Team Bowling for Charity

Not only did our Firstbank bowling team have a great time out on the lanes, but they helped so many community organizations at the same time when they participated in the Mt. Pleasant Optimist Club's 24th Annual Bowling Event.  This event supports organizations throughout Isabella County.  Some of those include; Big Brother & Big Sisters, Junior Achievement, Mt. Pleasant Community Foundation, 4-H of Isabella County and many others!   

Mt. Pleasant West M 20 Staff Run 5K

Some of the staff from our Mt. Pleasant M 20 branch bundled up and headed out to run in the Dickens Christmas Festival 5K run which took place on December 3, 2011.  Featured here are; Branch Manager Amy Ervin, Ryan Speelman and Joshua Clark.  The Festival is an annual event which includes carriage rides through downtown, a live Nativity, breakfast with Santa and lighted parade.

Fall Events in Mt. Pleasant

Firstbank is a proud sponsor of the 9th annual Harvest Festival which takes place in Howard City. The fun fall event features something for everyone in the family including: children's activities like face painting, a magic show, and inflatables; a teen dance; and for the adults an art tent, car and tractor shows, quilt exhibit, as well as a talent contest. Members of our Firstbank team in Howard City participated in the parade through town along with Fortune Freddy!

Firstbank team members take some time to tour Art Prize in Grand Rapids, which is an art competition that was held from September 21-October 9. It features art from artists across the nation.

Mardi Gras in Mt. Pleasant

The Mardi Gras Festival in Mt. Pleasant is an annual event that has been taking place for almost a decade now.

It was held again this year on September 17th with the purpose of welcoming CMU students to Mt. Pleasant, featuring arts from Art Reach of Mt. Pleasant as well as face painting, kids activities and a parade through town.  Firstbank participated in the parade with their “Briefcase Brigade.”

Food Drive in Mt. Pleasant

Firstbank-Mt. Pleasant is excited to again be taking food and cash donations leading up to this holiday season.

In 2010, Firstbank-Mt. Pleasant was able to raise 670 lbs. of food for local charities and food pantries. Among these organizations were Isabella Community Soup Kitchen, Helping Hands Food Pantry, American Legion, God's Helping Hands, Salvation Army, Christian Community of Fellowship Food Pantry, St. Vincent DePaul, and Community Action Agency.

The drive will run from Monday, October 24th, and run through Friday, November 11th. Stop by any of the thirteen branches to make your donation!
