At Keystone, we have a "Jeans Day" every other Friday. On these days, employees are awarded a casual day for the fee of $5, which is donated to various charities throughout the year. Each branch and department gets the opportunity to choose an organization, family, or cause to sponsor at least one Friday of the year.
This is a great way to encourage our employees to donate, and also be involved in where their contributions end up.
Over the past year, Keystone employees (along with a handful of customers) have donated a total of $3,662 to 19 different charities! These charities include:
- Eleanor's Food Pantry
- Special Olympics of Kalamazoo
- Portage Community Center
- Kalamazoo Animal Rescue
- Drug Treatment Court
- Great Lakes PeaceJam
- American Red Cross–Earthquake and Tsunami Victims in Japan
- American Cancer Center–Relay for Life
- Memorial Fund for Officer Eric Zapata
- Kzoo Leaders
- Senior Services of Van Buren County–Wii Tournaments
- Hospice Care of SW MI
- Animal Rescue Project
- Portage Community Center–Back to School Supply Drive
- SPCA of Southwest Michigan
- American Cancer Society–Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
- Douglass Community Center
- Family of Officer Trevor Slot
- Borgess Tree of Love
Thank you to everyone who participates in these fundraisers throughout the year!
The Keystone branches have tallied their donations from their recent food drive, which ran from November 7th-December 17th. The collected items totaled 794 lbs. of food and $1,529.30, with the numbers continuing to rise, due to the fact that some customers are still dropping off items.
All donations are given to the Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes as well as Eleanor's Food Pantry.
Thank you to everyone who donated to help those in our community!
