The employees of Firstbank–Alma, Ithaca and Northtown offices volunteered to work at the Alma Panthers' Boys' and Girls' Basketball games on Friday, January 18th against Swan Valley.
Today, Santa’s elves were on hand to serve lunch to the staff as they donated money or brought in a new, unwrapped toy for our Toys for Tots Drive. We have a very generous staff at our Corporate Operations Center and our Firstbank Alma locations and we collected a large variety of great toys as well as $286 for Toys for Tots. This year Toys for Tots in Gratiot County will make the holidays brighter for more than 650 children within the county!
If you are interested in donating to Toys for Tots and haven’t had an opportunity to do so, all of our Firstbank - Alma locations are excepting cash donations for Toys for Tots and there is still a box at Wal-Mart where you can drop off any new, unwrapped toys until Christmas Day.
The changing of the seasons can be such a beautiful time of year! The change in seasons also brings lots of fun festivities for fall! The staff at our St. Louis office recently enjoyed participating in a light pole decorating contest in downtown St. Louis. They had a great time creating “Franken Freddy" while using many of the traditional decorations of the season to bring a great autumn flavor to St. Louis.
We’re committed to doing our part to protect the environment and keep our planet safe for generations to come! Have you ever considered what happens to all of the batteries that you throw away? Batteries that end up in landfills and incinerators eventually end up in our environment and/or the food chain, which can cause serious health risks to us and our animals. We’re excited that there is now a better option to dispose of old batteries. The Alma Main Office now offers FREE battery recycling. We can all make this world a little greener simply by recycling our batteries instead of tossing them in the trash.
*Unfortunately, vehicle batteries (car or motorcycle) and those with liquid electrolytes cannot be accepted at this time.

Firstbank proudly supports all of the youth involved in the Gratiot County Fair for Youth! Each year during fair week, Firstbank makes a donation to the Gratiot County 4-H Leaders Council. This enables the Leaders Council to fund grants to help many 4-H members attend camps and take special trips throughout the year.
Firstbank Branch Manager, Joan Welke, completed her first 5K run on Saturday, June 23rd. Joan chose to compete in her first run as part of Firstbank’s 5k run that promoted health and wellness and benefitted Relay for Life as well.
