Headquartered in Alma, Michigan, Firstbank Corporation now comprises a six bank financial services company with 53 banking offices located in central, southwest and northeast Michigan. Bank subsidiaries include: Firstbank – Alma; Firstbank (Mt. Pleasant); Firstbank – West Branch; Firstbank – St. Johns, Keystone Community Bank and Firstbank—West Michigan, Other corporate affiliates include 1st Armored, Inc. Investment Services are available through First Investment Center located at Firstbank–West Michigan and through affiliations with Citizens Bank Wealth Management and Raymond James Financial Services.
Firstbank Corporation was originally established in 1985 as a holding company
for Firstbank – Alma (formerly Bank of Alma). In 1987, Firstbank (Mt. Pleasant)
and Firstbank – West Branch were added to the group. From 1990-96, nine branch
acquisitions were completed. Expansion continued in 1997 when Firstbank – Lakeview
was acquired. The fifth affiliate, Firstbank - St. Johns, was chartered as a “de
novo” bank in 2000. The acquisition of Keystone Financial Corporation, a Michigan
bank holding company, and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Keystone Community Bank,
was completed in October 2006. The newest edition to our family, Firstbank—West
Michigan, fka ICNB was added July 2, 2007.
